Year 1 PINNACK COLLEGE LINDEN MONTHLY QUESTION PHASE Our first month in Year 1, the Year 1 teachers couldn’t wait to meet our new Year 1s. We found that 1st graders were excited to start school for the first time. We had a great teacher’s day and it was great to meet all our students and their families. Our first month of school was a great start to the year. The first month of school has passed. We have been very busy learning each other’s names, our classroom arrangements, and learning our routines. If there is one thing that is very important in the 1st grade classroom, it is culture. Our students are doing a great job of learning these techniques and we will continue to develop them this semester.

Grade 1 PINNALL COLLEGE LINDEN MONTHLY QUESTIONS Foundation Stage All About Me. All 1st grade classes created an “All About Me” cloud. This really helped us get to know each other better. We learned how old each student is, what colors they like, favorite foods, how many pets they have and even what they want to be when they grow up. We wanted to get to know each other.

Grade 1 PINNACLE COLLEGE LINDEN MONTHLY QUESTIONS Foundation Stage Writing is fun. In 1st grade we learn all about writing. As teachers, we thought this was the best opportunity to introduce correspondence for the first time. 1st graders learned to write correct color schemes for all colors using shaving cream. It’s safe to say we were all covered in shaving cream by the end of this event. Grade 2 We welcome you back to our happy family, and to the families who have just joined us, we hope you have a great time in Grade 2. It is our tradition to keep you informed of school activities throughout the year through newsletters. and e. The month of January brought many exciting new events in the 2nd grade classrooms. The incredible pace of change and commitment of Year 2 teachers and students ensured that January was truly amazing. Our classroom is characterized by high expectations of teachers and students. As a result, we are rapidly implementing one of our key mottos for Grade 2: “Learning Changes Lives”. PINNALL COLLEGE LINDEN MONTHLY SURVEY Foundation Phase Ameera Dawood January brought exciting “firsts” for many of our students. This month’s theme is All About Me. Our students had their first Talent Show where they were able to showcase their special talents to their friends and teachers. Our goal was to build confidence and teach students how to speak in front of an audience. All the 2nd grade teachers were left inspired. We have a range of amazing, special and talented pupils in Year 2. I want to share some tips for the new year that I think are good. These ideas spoke to me. Smile and laugh a lot. They are actually anti-depressants. Remember your reason. Live your purpose. Remember why you do what you do. We are not burned for what we did. We burn out because we forget why we do it. Be a good team member. Being beautiful doesn’t just make you better, it makes everyone around you better. I’m looking forward to the new month and I’m sure the students will love school and learning even more than they already do.

Grade 3 And as we begin our journey into Grade 3 this year, Grade 3 students arrived on campus on January 11th, full of smiles and much joy. In the first semester of 2023, third grade students were excited to learn new skills and make new and wonderful memories. They have enjoyed the past three weeks and have really enjoyed exploring and discovering new skills. This month in Maths, our students enjoyed reviewing and revising the concepts of folding and halving. They have been working hard on completing examples on their whiteboards and connecting ideas and completing worksheets. The students completed their first lessons in the first three weeks of school and teachers were impressed with their skills. Well done Third grade your skills blew your teachers away. PINNACLE COLLEGE LINDEN MONTHLY SURVEY Foundation Stage Our English language students enjoyed returning to the classroom and using their English skills to work again after the holidays. Third graders are well back in school and have started working on their handwriting and writing skills. They completed their first lessons and the teachers were very pleased with the skills they showed us over the last three weeks. We look forward to seeing them grow and improve their English skills in the coming months and weeks. Our main focus for the next six sessions we will be looking at ‘All About Me’. In class, we had class discussions about goals, strengths, weaknesses, and how we can achieve our goals in and out of school.

The art students worked on a puzzle where we as a class created our own classroom puzzle together. It was great to read and see the students’ creativity and their personalities come out on the puzzle pieces. As teachers, we are proud to display these beautiful pictures outside of our classrooms for all to see. If you have time, come and see these beautiful pieces. Grade 3 PINNALL COLLEGE LINDEN MONTHLY QUESTION PASSAGE One In our extra classes such as robotics and Zulu, the students enjoyed interacting with their new teachers during these lessons. In Robots, 3rd graders learned about the parts of a robot and how those parts work together to make the robot move and work. Students will be asked to design and build their own robot and ensure that the robot has the necessary components to move and function. The creativity that emerged was amazing to see and how the students really loved the idea of ​​what a robot is and how it works. In Zulu, students learned to greet people and different groups, they chatted with the teacher and worked on their books. In Afrikaans we talk about greeting each other and repeating our readings, letters and days of the week. Well done Third Grade.

In the middle of the month, the 3rd graders were asked to attend a senior homecoming. All the students shone in the weather in the pool and on the sidelines, cheering on their teams and peers. It was great to see everyone enjoying the sun and spending the morning outside.
